// GETTING STARTED
Getting started
Go to Settings › Integrations, click "Add Integration," enter your API key or credentials from your HR/CRM system, and click "Test Connection." Once verified, data will start syncing automatically within 5–10 minutes.
Most systems: Settings › API or Developer Settings. Still can't find it? Email us at support@applybyorion.com and we'll help you track it down.
The most common causes: you haven't connected any integrations yet (go to Settings › Integrations); data is still syncing — wait 5–10 minutes after connecting; your source system has no data yet; or your API key has restricted permissions — make sure it has read access.
Initial sync: 5–10 minutes after connecting. Ongoing updates depend on your sync frequency (real-time, hourly, or daily). Check sync status at Settings › Integrations, which shows the last sync time for each connection.
Yes — go to Settings › Team and click "Invite User." Available roles: Admin (full access, can manage integrations), Manager (view their department's data, can't change settings), and Viewer (read-only access).

Integrations
Try: copying the entire key (don't leave off any characters), checking for extra spaces before or after the key, verifying the key hasn't expired, and confirming you have the right permissions — some systems require admin access. Still not working? Email the error message to support@applybyorion.com.
Check that your base URL is correct (e.g., https://yourcompany.com/api), verify that your company firewall isn't blocking API requests, and try again in a few minutes — the source system may be temporarily down.
Check the sync logs (Settings › Integrations › View Logs), verify your API key has read access to employee/deal data, check if field mapping is required, and try forcing a re-sync by clicking "Sync Now" in Settings › Integrations.
ORiON integrates with any system that has API access — HR systems (employee data, performance ratings, headcount), CRM systems (deal pipeline, revenue data, sales rep performance), and internal tools (custom databases or proprietary systems). If your system has an API, we can connect to it.
Go to Settings › Integrations, find the integration, click the ••• menu, and select "Disconnect." This stops data syncing but won't delete historical data already in ORiON.
// FLIGHT RISK & RETENTION
Flight risk & retention
Most common reasons: performance ratings are outdated (flight risk uses data from your HR system — update reviews there, then re-sync); hire dates are incorrect (tenure is a major factor — fix dates in your HR system); or you're comparing to other tools (ORiON uses Tenure 30% + Performance 40% + Workload 30% — click "View Formula" to see the full calculation).
Flight risk isn't just about performance. ORiON also factors in tenure (employees at 12–24 months have the highest turnover statistically), workload (top performers handling too many responsibilities burn out faster), and compensation (great performers paid below market often leave). Click on their risk score to see the full breakdown.
Not currently on standard plans. The formula is based on workforce research showing tenure, performance, and workload are the strongest predictors of turnover. Enterprise plans include custom risk modeling — email support@applybyorion.com to discuss.
Flight risk recalculates every time ORiON syncs new data from your HR system. Check your sync frequency in Settings › Integrations.
// WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT
Workforce management
Common causes: different date ranges (check the date filter at the top), inactive or terminated employees being included, data not yet synced (recent changes take 5–10 minutes), or contractors vs. FTEs being counted differently. To fix: go to Settings › Integrations and click "Sync Now."
This happens when: there are no open positions (you're fully staffed), no revenue data has been synced (connect your CRM to calculate revenue impact), or target headcount hasn't been set (set it in Settings › Workforce).
ORiON pulls target headcount from your HR system's "budgeted positions" or "approved headcount" fields. If your HR system doesn't have this, email support@applybyorion.com and we can help configure it manually.
// REVENUE INTELLIGENCE
Revenue intelligence
Check: date range (ORiON may be using a different period), deal stages (verify "Closed Won" deals are marked correctly in your CRM), currency (if you use multiple currencies, check conversion rates), and sync timing (recent deals take a few minutes to sync). Still off? Email support@applybyorion.com with specific examples.
Two reasons: no CRM integration connected (go to Settings › Integrations and connect your CRM), or no closed deals in your CRM (ORiON can only show data that exists in your source system).
Deal velocity = average days from opportunity created to closed won. ORiON only counts closed won deals. Common issues: old deals skewing the average (filter to last 90 days), deals missing creation dates (clean up in your CRM), or lost deals being included (they're excluded by default).
// DASHBOARD & CUSTOMIZATION
Dashboard & customization
Go to Personal Dashboard, click "Add Widget" in the top right, select the widget you want, and it will appear at the bottom. Drag it to rearrange to your preferred layout.
Try clearing your browser cache, make sure you're not in incognito/private mode, and try a different browser. Still happening? Email support@applybyorion.com.

Quick fixes: reduce the number of widgets, check your internet connection, clear browser cache, and use a shorter date range (2 years of data loads slower than 90 days).
// FORMULAS & CALCULATIONS
Formulas & calculations
Click "View Formula" on any metric card to see the exact calculation, what data sources are used, and how each component is weighted. Every metric in ORiON has a transparent formula — no black boxes.
Currently, formulas are fixed based on workforce research and best practices. Enterprise customers can request custom formulas. Email support@applybyorion.com to discuss.
Our formula is based on workforce research: Performance (40%) is the strongest predictor of turnover; Tenure (30%) peaks at 12–24 months, the most common departure window; Workload (30%) captures burnout risk for overloaded employees. We weight performance highest because it's the strongest predictor.

Account & billing
Email billing@applybyorion.com and we'll get you set up.
Email billing@applybyorion.com. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period. Your data is saved for 30 days afterward (you can export it), then permanently deleted after that window.
We currently do not offer refunds. Please email billing@applybyorion.com with any questions or concerns.
Go to Settings › Data Export, select what you want to export, choose CSV or PDF format, and click "Export." You can export your data at any time — you don't need to cancel first.

Data & privacy
Yes. ORiON uses AES-256 encryption for data at rest, HTTPS encryption for data in transit, and is GDPR and CCPA compliant. We never sell your data or share it with third parties.
Only users in your workspace with appropriate permissions: Admins see everything; Managers see their department only; Viewers have read-only access to what you grant them. ORiON staff cannot access your data without your explicit permission.
Yes. Email support@applybyorion.com to request data deletion. We delete all your data within 30 days — including employee data, revenue data, and all historical records. This action cannot be undone, so export first if needed.
Only within your workspace. ORiON uses LLMs to analyze text data like performance reviews to generate insights. Your data never trains models for other customers. All metric formulas remain transparent and auditable.
// TECHNICAL ISSUES
Technical issues
Try: refresh the page (Cmd+R or Ctrl+R), clear browser cache, try incognito/private mode, and try a different browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge are all supported). Still not working? Email support@applybyorion.com.
This usually means you've been logged out for security reasons, or you're logged in on multiple devices/browsers. Fix: log out completely, then log back in.
Try: double-checking your email and password, clicking "Forgot Password" on the login screen, and checking your email for the reset link (it expires after 1 hour). Still can't log in? Email support@applybyorion.com.
Common issues: pop-up blocker (allow pop-ups for applybyorion.com), browser download settings (check your downloads folder), or large exports with lots of data that take 30–60 seconds to generate.
